Estes Park Fishing Report.
The Big Thompson River below Lake Estes has finally dropped in flow. Fly fishing has been good since the drop. Nymph fishing with a double rig has been the way to go. There is still a sporadic hatch of PMD’s that will get the trouts attention. Baetis are starting to been seen. Drake hatch is over for the most part. Trico’s in the early AM have been fun.
Guide Recommended Flies: Dries: #16 PMD Cripple, #14 Instigator. Nymphs: #16 Old Blue, #16 Mavis Mayfly
Big Thompson Fly Collection: Let us hand tie a dozen flies for you that match the current conditions.
