Fort Collins Fly Fishing Guides Report 10/13/17
Our Fort Collins Fly Fishing Guides report that the Fishing on the Poudre is so so. It all depends on were you are at. The upper-mid canyon has been going well around Rustic. Look for BWO’s to be thin. Hatch has been starting closer to 1 pm now. Mid Canyon has been the same. I have found there you have to cover more water to find fish. As with last week work the deeper steady current to find willing fish. The lower section is what it is. BWO’s and Midges doing their thang. The in Town water has been money. I was fortunate to fish it this evening with my brother in law from 4 to 7 pm. I am happy to report that we did well. Flows are up slightly but the fish are still coming to the surface. We only fished with a #18 BWO Cripple on top and a #20 97oh as a dropper
Guide Recommend Flies: Dries- #18 BWO Cripple, #18 Old Town Midge. Nymphs- #20 97oh.
